- At top of steps, Wm Jones engine man (d1954 aged 84); on centre pier Frank Owen, brakesman (d 1963 aged 88). Plane abandoned August 1921

- The last photograph ever taken of the Trench Lock
- William Jones, the last of the inclined plane engine men. Born 1871, died 1955. began working on Trench Incline in 1882

- The most westerly bridge. In use before 1788 & disused as canal bridge from about 1902. Tramway came over it to furnace nearby
- A reservoir for the Shropshire canal. This was below the level of the canal
- Stop plate denoted western terminus of Donnington Wood Canal (now buried)
- Tub boats repaired here until buildings converted into cottages. Canal ran alongside. Houses partly demolished Sept 1962
