Volunteering

Volunteering is fun!

Volunteering is a brilliant way to meet people, make new friends, get some fresh air and exercise and perhaps learn new skills and you don’t even have to be a Trust member to come along and help at one of our work parties.  There is a map at the bottom of the page showing the locations we regularly work at.

If physical work is not your thing, there are many other ways you could help.  Here are some of them.

If you have skill or expertise in any of the following areas we need you:

The law

Accountancy

Office Management

Experience in dealing with Local Authority Planning departments

Food Hygiene

IT and social media

Marketing

Managing Archives

Fundraising

Website Management

Car Insurance Alert for Volunteers

Some insurance companies require that they are informed if your car is to be used for Volunteering purposes.  The distinction between volunteer driving (such as taking people to the doctors or hospital) and driving to a work party or other place to carry out volunteer work is unclear.  Volunteers for SNCT are advised to check whether their insurance company requires to be informed.  You can find the list of companies by following this external link: https://www.abi.org.uk/globalassets/sitecore/files/documents/publications/public/migrated/motor/volunteer-driving—the-motor-insurance-commitment2.pdf
