MUD, MUD, GLORIOUS MUD!

After our very successful concrete pour last Saturday (when the weather was kinder) we returned today (2nd October) in squally showers. The rainwater that would have gone into the mud that is now covered in concrete, has flowed into the gaps between and made everything very soggy! Our volunteers did a fantastic job to remove all the shuttering from the basin slabs and some of the formwork from the retaining wall base, plus starting to build the final sections of steelwork for the wall. It was very hard work in all that mud, but we intend to go back tomorrow to finish the job.

All shuttering removed and one slab turned into temporary steelwork building station.
Still very soggy, but about 60% of the formwork removed from the retaining wall
