WAPPENSHALL BRIDGE No 13

Wappenshall Bridge No 13 was originally a road bridge on the Trench Arm of the Shrewsbury and Newport Canals. The canal flowed under this bridge, past Wharf House, and into the West Basin at Wappenshall Wharf. For many years Wappenshall Bridge No 13 has remained hidden in the undergrowth outside Wharf House. Over the last three years volunteers from the Shrewsbury and Newport Canals Trust have gradually revealed the bridge. Please follow the link below which shows the progress of different parts of the bridge being uncovered.

Many thanks to John Haynes for the photographs.
