FALLEN TREE? NO PROBLEM!

The regular Thursday work party at Berwick Tunnel’s south portal concentrated on removing more of the large fallen ash tree this week.

Using the Tirfor winch to remove large parts of the trunk from the water.
The towpath was cleared right to the portal and all stonework was exposed.
The offside stonework sees light for the first time in decades.
